Want to go river rafting or kayaking around Park City? The Provo River is a fantastic mellow river with light rapids and spectacular scenery! Since the Provo River features a wide range of activities, we offer some spectacular Park City Rafting packages that include this scenic float along with other activities! We also encourage our guests to try out our 2-person inflatable Kayaks if they want a little more excitement. The kayaks are very easy to maneuver and require little to zero previous kayaking experience.
Note: Kayaks and rafts are interchangeable on these trips so pick whichever you want.
Raft and Kayak Trip|
We will meet you at the Provo River and guide you down the beautiful mountain fed river for a mild but fun filled excursion. We offer guided trips on 6-9 person rafts or two person sit on top inflatable kayaks. The river float is 5 miles and has class I-II rapids. The river is full of beautiful evergreen trees, granite cliffs, crystal clear water and fish/bird sightings are guaranteed! Take a look at our videos below to see what the river and rapids look like. To make the trip even more fun, we can provide long-range water guns to shoot obstacles along river or others willing to get wet. Beware of pirates, arrrrrrg! We provide complimentary waters and picture taking with the float and we also provide dry bags so you can take some pictures with your own phone if you prefer!
Rafts vs Kayaks
The rafts hold 6-9 people and are captained by the guide who sits in a frame on the back. The guide does all the paddling so you just have to sit back and relax. Rafts are perfect for small kids (35 pounds and up), older folks and or those who do not want to get super wet. Groups of 4 or more people will always have a private raft.
The kayaks hold 1-2 people and you do all the paddling. We usually have a guide kayak for every 3 kayaks so they are always nearby to help and teach you. Zero previous kayaking experience is required because the guide will tell you everything you need to do. If you want more of a whitewater experience, choose the kayaks because you are closer to the rapids so you can really feel them, plus you get much more wet.
Want to try both rafting and kayaking? If your group wants to raft down the river but also take turns paddling in the kayak, we can bring both so everybody has a chance to do each activity. (4 person minimum)
Float times start at 9:30AM, 11:30AM and 1:30PM; please be 15-20 minutes early for check-in and safety briefing.
If you are a group under 4 people but still want a private raft tour, it would just be an extra $25 per person. ($80 adult, $65 child)
Self-Guided Kayak Option: $40 per person
Lunch & Transportation From Park City Options (4 person minimum)
Two Short Waterfall Hikes & Bike Excursion|
Once we meet at the river, we will get the blood flowing and the muscles warmed up by doing a quick hike to our first waterfall. The hike takes about 10-15 minutes to the waterfall and of course allow some time for pictures and enjoying the views and mist of the falls. We will then hike back down to the trail where we will hop on the bikes. The bike trail is a nice paved trail that runs along the scenic Provo River. We will ride up the trail for two miles until we get to Vivian Park. At the park, we can stretch our legs, grab a drink and then cruise back down the trail a mile to our second waterfall hike. This hike is a little steeper and takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the top. After some R&R and pictures, we will hike back down to the bikes to finish our journey. The final bike journey is around 5 miles, all downhill, and will take us to the bottom of Provo Canyon. We will see such sites as; rock formations, other waterfalls, bridges, tunnels, parks, etc. Then it is just a quick 10 minute drive back to the start.
Time: 2-3 hours
2 Short Waterfall Hikes
& Float Excursion|
Want to get a little exercise and heat up before the float? There are two beautiful Waterfalls in Provo Canyon that we will hike to so we can do just that! Enjoy deep pine forests and canyon overlooks while hiking to both falls. Each hike starts at the river and ends at the base of the falls. Each hike takes about 30-45 minutes round trip. Both falls are only a few minute drive from each other and about a 5-minute drive from our float site keeping you out of the car and in the sun!
No problem, combine all three for $105 per adult or $85 per kid.
