Snowshoeing in Park City

Our snowshoeing tours begin and end with us picking you up at your lodging in the Park City area. Most of our local trailheads are within 10 minutes from the main street area. If you are staying outside the Park City area, we can meet you in a central Park City location or we can pick you up for an additional fee.  Snowshoeing among the Wasatch Mountains is a special thrill for anyone willing to slow down and enjoy the beauty. A Park City snowshoe tour is an excellent way to get a better feel for the area, see the wildlife that thrives in the woods and fields, and perhaps exercise those underused thigh muscles too. Snowshoeing requires no previous experience so anybody can do this activity regardless of age and shape level.  We always say, “If you can walk, you can snowshoe!”

All our snowshoe tours include transportation from your Park City lodging, the snowshoe rental, poles, and overshoes to keep your tennis shoes warm and dry in case you don’t have boots or waterproof shoes.  We also provide complimentary waters and granola bars!

Two-Hour Local Snowshoe Tour

We will guide you on a two hour Park City snowshoe tour in the mountains. You will be in the middle of deep forests and also spots that overlook the beautiful mountains and valleys of Park City. We offer both a leisure and moderate pace option. Snowshoeing on the packed trails is fun and easy for ages 4-84. For those that want more of a workout, we can go “off road” and snowshoe in the deep powder that is guaranteed to make you sweat. Snowshoe Tour & Downhill Sledding (2-3hrs)

We will hike up the mountain tops where you will see panoramic views of the beautiful Park City area. The first part of the hike is up a closed mountain road where the true workout begins. Then towards the top, we will venture in the woods to get some deep powder in the thick pine trees. Once we get to the top and after we enjoy the view, the real fun begins! We will sled down the path we took up to the mountain. Enjoy the thrill of racing down the hill and rushing by the trees and snow in your personal sled! This is truly one of the most fun things to do in Park City!

Night Snowshoeing (1hr)

Enjoy a moonlight 1-hour tour in the mountains of Deer Valley. We will provide headlamps but often it is more fun to just let your eyes adjust to the moon light so you can enjoy this evening winter wonderland. The stars and Christmas lights in the distance is always an added bonus.
**For an extra $75 per group, we can take you to the St Regis to ride the funicular tram to the outdoor terrace of the restaurant and enjoy their evening ritual of the champagne sabering, which starts at 5:30PM. We will load back in the car at 6PM to then start the snowshoe tour.

Snowshoeing at Sundance Resort (2-4hrs)

Take a trip down to Robert Redford's famous Sundance Resort. Come see the stunning views of cliff-lined Mount Timpanogas; which rises almost 12,000 feet. You will feel like you are in the Alps!! We will take you on a 2 hour guided snowshoe tour around the remote Sundance Wilderness area and then give you a small tour of the Sundance Village and make a stop for lunch or dinner at one of the award-winning restaurants there on-site.

Snowshoe and Hot Springs Cave Excursion (5-6hrs)

We will pick you up in Park City and take you on our two hour local snowshoe tour. After the tour, we will drop you off at a local restaurant and you will be able to have lunch on your own. After lunch, we will drive you to the homestead crater, which is a 30 minute drive away from Park City. On the way, we will tell you local stories and fun jokes about the area. At the homestead crater, you will enjoy a therapeutic soak in the famous hot spring cave. The cave has a natural spring with a diameter of about 40 feet and is 60 feet deep! There is a hot tub structure where you can sit and relax or you can grab a life jacket and float in the deep pool with the scuba divers. The temperature is about 91-94 degrees making it not too hot but not too cold. There are lockers and changing rooms in the cave and you are welcome to leave all unused extra gear with your driver in the car. After the soak, we will drive you back to Park City. The entire tour takes about 5-6 hours.

Self Guided Snowshoe Tours (2-3hrs)

Want to explore park city's winter wonderland on your own? We will still come to your hotel and pick you up, however, instead of guiding you, we will take you to our favorite canyon to snowshoe and you can guide yourself! We will provide you with snowshoes, poles and a map app and you will be on your own to tour! We will give you 2-3 hours to snowshoe on your own before we come back to get you.

Snowshoe Rentals (24hrs)

If you have a car or just want things to do in Park City on your own near your hotel, we will bring you the snowshoe equipment and you can snowshoe on your own schedule. We offer free delivery and pick up of equipment to anywhere in the Park City area (outer areas may incur extra charge).
